Since
being introduced to yoga by my mother-in-law, I've been practicing
yoga since 1999 and teaching since 2003.
I received my
teaching certification from the
Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago and
am registered with the
Yoga Alliance.
I have been inspired by many teachers from several yoga and Buddhist
traditions.
I teach traditional hatha
yoga and incorporate asana, pranayama and centering/meditation into
every class.
As a licensed professional counselor, I am
primarily interested in the psychological and therapeutic benefits
of yoga practice. I believe strongly in the mind-body or
mind-heart connection and in using hatha yoga and meditation to
promote health, wholeness and personal empowerment. I encourage and invite
everyone to breathe, relax, feel, watch, allow and experience each
moment exactly as it is.
I strongly believe that everybody can benefit
from yoga,
and
I especially enjoy teaching beginning students and
those who do not believe they can "do yoga". In addition
to my group classes, I am available for individualized yoga
instruction and yoga therapy workshops.

"As a female I was
nervous the first time I had a male teacher. Kyle's class however
has become my favorite yoga class! I love the light hearted nature
of the class teamed with the attitude that everyone should be able
to do yoga. Kyle is always in tune with his students and can adjust
his class or the pose according to their needs."

"I am missing the benefit of
attending Kyle's Friday afternoon yoga class (4:00
p.m.). The class is full of standing poses, moderate to challenging
inversions,
and plenty of great stretches. Kyle was trained in Chicago and has a
very open
and body-honoring style. The class has a good pace and seems to go
quickly."
